Finally.... the day has come. Unfortunately I still have to go to work as I only took half day off today, Frankie's luckier he took whole day off! Knowing there are plenty of works to finish before disappearing for a month I decided to go to work early, reaching office at 7.15am thinking I might be the first to arrive, who know my hardworking Associate Ian was already there... aiks....
After a busy morning at last I can go back home and get ready. The flight was 6.05pm so we went to Heathrow airport around 3.00pm, giving us plenty of time to check-in, well... we have already checked in 2 days ago - online, ha... the beauty of Internet... we managed to select the limited 2-seat in a row only at the rear.
From far we can see the long queue at the Cathay Pacific's counter. So we joined in and waited for our turn. After almost 20 minutes of impatient waiting we still not move very far from where we were, so Frankie decided to investigate and see whether there is any express lane for the online check-in passengers. Ah.... there was one actually... so stupid us! so quickly we moved to the express lane and within 5 minutes completed our check-in procedure.
Ok, now we can relax. After wandering around the duty free shops and still have time before boarding, we walked in the O'neill's, an Irish pub, to have some light lunch and order:
Seafood Crock Pot
Hot Chocolate
Not bad the food, well this probably will be the last western meal we order for the next month... ha ha ha..
Time to go and this time the gate number was shown so we headed to gate 7.
Mini TV screen in front of the seat which kept me entertained for the next 10 hours 42 minutes
Let's check what's on the menu
'Em... why look the same as last year December!?' as I still remember last year we had to choose the rigatoni with pumpkin sauce because the chicken were running out and only left the beef stew and this rigatoni and we didn't have choice as we don't eat beef. Well.. this time we are clever, we have pre-ordered for special meal- no beef meal. I thought they will let us choose first but I was wrong. The meals arrived and we have our dinner ahead of everyone else. We didn't get to choose and have no clue what we will be having, as long as it's no beef.
Not sure whether it is a wise choice or should we gamble to get what is on the menu.
Once opened the foil, ok not bad, a steamed salmon fish with vegetables.

Flipping through the duty free magazine we noticed they do sell the airport express tickets to Kowloon Station and it costs cheaper than buying at the counter. Without a doubt we ordered two round trip tickets, saving us HK$20 in total, at HK$150 each.
The airport express also provides free shuttle bus service to major hotels. Our hotel - Royal Pacific at Tsim Sha Tsui is the last stop with K2 bus
Our breakfast, or lunch according to Hong Kong's time was served. An English breakfast meal with scrambled eggs, mushrooms, hash brown and tomato.
